This Harley Street guru works with TV presenters, actors, speakers, blue chip companies - in fact anyone interested in raising their vocal game. And Laura especially loves the Geordie accent because her mother was born and brought up in Whitley Bay. She's no stranger to the well noted rising inflection of our regional dialect.
"Only a few tweaks are required to this particular inflection and you can maintain your wonderful accent whilst avoiding challenge or confusion to a non-regional speaker.
Laura's work boosts business performance. "Take the CEO who noticed that every time he and his FD presented their results to the city, shares went down" explains Laura. "The CEO spoke in a way that gave an impression of lack of confidence, whilst the FD's tempo left you feeling he was trying to put something past you.
"Like many others, this CEO recovered the cost of my training within a few hours. At his next city presentation the company's share price began to rise again - just one clear example of how a simple adjustment can make a significant difference to business performance.
Laura comes to the North East on July 5th to present our one-day Voice Power training.
It can be a shock to discover the latent potential of your diaphragm, wind pipe and vocal chords and so we've added Laura to our team! The benefits are instant and she combines proven physiological, phonetic and psychological techniques with lots of fun."
"There isn't any one correct speaking voice" says Laura "it's about using the one that gets specific results. The thing is - most people don't realise how their minds and bodies influence their speaking."
Laura has two private clinics, one in Harley Street and one in Richmond, and from both, she transforms celebrities, business executives, media and regular folk alike using NLP, Performance Coaching and her highly prized Spicer Method and Voice Power techniques.
One of Laura's business interests has been to produce a range of vocal enhancement products for people who want to give powerful presentations, stop stammering and give eloquent interviews.
As well as the corporate commissions, Laura's individual client list is impressive and includes comic actor Alexander Armstrong, international rugby player Kenny Logan, former Republic of Ireland skipper and TV football pundit Andy Townsend and former Scottish football international Ally McCoist.
"Whenever you communicate with your voice, people unconsciously judge your tones and I train people to sound (and think) interesting, motivating and authoritative. You can easily learn to adjust your pace, tonality and inflections very rapidly with the accelerated learning practices I use. In fact, 15 minutes or half an hour might be enough to make a significant difference to how you appear to others. The voice is a magnificent tool."
